I have always done crafts with my hands. Made wedding gowns, Blown glass, Knitted Cable (Irish) cardigans, Crocheted, Built furniture, made epoxy and wood tables, jewelry, I Never thought I would be using an 80W CO2 laser and producing such incredible designs. Wow am I blessed, I cant wait to get up and go in my shop every day to see what Magical items can appear by the end of the day (usually about 14 - 16 hours and I come in with a smile on my face each night. Who Knew!
I started with a tabletop 20W fiber laser, I had always loved working with wood and finding the magical pieces hiding inside the wood just waiting for me to bring them to life, made me think of "Wonderland", that beautiful place children hate to leave and adults spend the rest of their lives trying to get back. I am the lucky one, I had enough skills, needed more training and better equipment. I could be that grown-up back in my magical land (and no need for drugs, just happy with my life choices). and every day, I can't wait to go into my shop each day to see what I can create today.
Well, to tell you my enthusiasm was far greater than my skills, would be under statement. After all those beautiful wedding gowns and outfits I had designed and professionally made, the Irish cable Sweaters I had knitted, hundreds over the years, the glass blowing and sculpting, soldering stained glass, which still so happily shone the light through after all these years, and the Ceramics and Jewelry adorned by my friends and family, well, it appears that was child's play; and now I was in the Big League, and I had better upgrade my equipment, skills and content if I was going to grow at all or just make Laser engraving and cutting a weekend hobby.
I My interest and enthusiasm was Big, my equipment on the other hand, was still in the first grade, while I had graduated from college, so I increased my equipment to a 40W, then a 60W CO2 Laser and now, I have an 80W CO2 laser, growing up can be fun, educational and somewhat frustrating at times. However with the grateful teachings of Michael, at Sonoma Laser Engraving and Alex and his crew, I made the transition to new computers (my old one was 15 years old) new software programs and my big (really big) beautiful 80W CO2 laser, I made the leap, and guess what, I am still that happy person who cant wait to get into the shop in the morning and see what magic awaits me.
When I tell you, I can't wait to see who I am going to make happy today, I am not exaggerating or stretching the truth not even a smidgen. I love to see the faces of the people I make items for, to know that something produced in my little shop makes they or theirs so happy, maybe even a future heirloom. Who knew that Laser Lady Creations is able to have such a profound effect on another human being, or be part of recording their most precious memories though our unique gifts and custom work, is quite astounding. I have no idea what I have done to have such blessings in my life, but I am truly thankful to the Good L-rd for all His Blessings.
